Grand Seiko Australia
Pink Flannel Flower Auction

Grand Seiko Australia is proud to partner with the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife to auction the last piece of the Australian Exclusive SBGJ269 “Pink Flannel Flower” watch.

SBGJ269 was inspired by the pink flannel flower (Actinotus forsythii), a rare wildflower native to Australia. It blooms under rainfall in the season following a bushfire to bring new life and new colour to landscapes scorched at the hand of fires. It is a sign of rebirth and renewal that showcases nature’s ability to overcome adversity.

It is for this reason we have partnered with the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife to help support their “Healing our Land” projects. The proceeds from this auction will help with long-term restoration of areas that have been decimated by floods and fires and builds resilience so that our land and wildlife can continue to recover.

Australia has the world’s second largest number of unique flora and fauna species yet one of the highest rates of extinction in the world. Our native lands and species are endangered from disaster after disaster. And when we lose them, they are lost forever. All proceeds from this auction will go to the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife to support their “Healing our Land” projects.

The successful auction winner will receive:

- The last SBGJ269 timepiece (RRP $10,600 Limited Edition of 50 pieces)
- A one-of-a-kind framed sketch from the designer of SBGJ269
- A made-to-measure additional leather strap

The Foundation exists to preserve and enhance Australia’s natural heritage by supporting impactful projects that tackle biodiversity loss.

From buying land to expand and create new national parks, to funding projects that save threatened species and regeneration projects that return the land to its optimal condition.

Our mission is to restore balance, halt extinctions and create environmental sustainability.

This auction will fund our bushfire recovery project – which has been running since the 2020 fires, in which we lost around 3 billion animals and 17 million hectares were burnt (that’s over twenty five million soccer pitches of wilderness).

The road to recovery is happening, it is a long journey - but the seeds we plant today are important.

The auction will help grow and plant over 1 million trees by 2025 in fire and flood affected areas and threatened ecological communities. To date nearly half a million native trees have been grown and planted locally across 4 states, regenerating thousands of hectares. Donations like this allow us to expand the impact of this project.

Nature is not a place to visit – it is our home.

From the air that we breathe, the soil that grows our food, the medicines that treat our loved ones, and the roofs over our heads. Nature and its ability to function is essential for us all. And every plant and animal plays a role in its ecosystem.

We appreciate Grand Seiko championing our cause. The purchase from this auction will make an impact on native wildlife, threatened species and local communities. By supporting regeneration and tree planting, together we can encourage nature to be a home for us all for generations to come.
